ABOUT US

Kweku Clothing is the clothing brand specialising in individually printed and tailored garments for the modern individual who is not afraid to stand out. The label was created by the Ghana born and London raised designer Kweku Quagraine.

Kweku's reason for starting the label was the natural progression from the customising of attire, a practice he engaged during his teens. As a graduate of Social Policy from Goldsmiths University, Kweku did not take the conventional route most designers took into the industry. However it was his time spent at Goldsmiths amongst numerous creative types which stirred his creative juices. The motto of Kweku Clothing is to 'Love The Funk'. 'The Funk' can be interpreted as to love what you’re doing.

The debut collection titled 'Expression Prints' reflects Kweku’s passion for Funk and Disco music, as well as a love of the early nineties rave scene conveyed via the use of neon colours.

Kweku’s sense of humour is also expressed in the collection with the pieces 'Shape Up' and 'Short Guy'. The Short Guy piece was created as a comeback for his vertically challenged male friends who would often complain about being overlooked by women as a result of their height. The signature ‘Weatherman Hoody’ reflects the changing mood of the human mindset from down (cloudy) to on top of the world (Sunshine). The expression collection has been individually printed and sewn. As a result no two pieces will ever be completely identical.
